Many of today’s wheels are cast or forged and made out of steel, aluminum, or aluminum alloy. Casting consists of pouring liquid metal into a mold, while forging consists of heating and machining a wheel into shape through the use of CNC lathing equipment. Anatomy-wise, the center section of a wheel contains a bolt pattern and mounting holes that are used to attach the wheel to a vehicle. The outermost lip of the wheel is known as the flange. The flange, located on the edge of the wheel, is flared to form the bead seat, which holds the tire and maintains an airtight seal. Safety humps are small elevations on the inside of the bead seat, which prevent the tire from falling into the drop center portion of the wheel in case a blowout occurs. This innovation allows drivers to maintain directional control of a vehicle with deflated tires. The drop center is the section of the wheel with a smaller diameter than the rest of the wheel. A bit of a late review ..(end of summer) but needs to be said … one day my son had an issue with his car at work  &  again on the way home …he works out of town so having a working car is paramount. I had called  the garage right around closing time  figuring it was likely to late and everyone was gone  but I  left a msg anyway   …Dave called me back 20min or so PAST closing time to see what the problem was and was able to take care of it next day! Great local garage, friendly reasonable and always willing to do what they can to help you out. Thanks again for another great experience!

I have written so many reviews on Water St Auto, I am like a broken record ... lol !!     I kept updating the previous reviews, but I am not sure anyone saw those anymore. Our poor old vehicles are in for service more often these days and so that is why I had so many updates (I had to delete them so I could make a fresh review). Our "poor old vehicles" are the reason why we are so pleased with the folks at Water St Auto. These guys are incredible! They have looked after our vehicles for @ 30 years and although 10 years ago we moved an hour away from Cambridge, we still bring our vehicles here for any work that is needed. These guys are keeping our vehicles safe and on the road and we trust them 100%. Just recently, we had A/C issues in the van while it was super hot and last week, heater issues in the Toyota which we noticed after it got cold ...
